Liz & Josh Wedding

Catherine
Beth set Mark & I up almost six years ago after visiting Liz (the bride) and I in Florida and stopping to see her friend Mark on the way home.
Liz can't keep her eyes open in 90% of the pictures she's ever been in. Now I see why: like mother (and father), like daughter! She was a beautiful bride and full of joy.

We got to spend some fun time with my parents, niece Annie,  and sister Sarah's family this weekend in Alabama. What a treat to see our girls!

Is iPhone changing your life too?

I hate going to the grocery store. Mark's kind enough to go to the grocery for me with some regularity. I get overwhelmed by the American supermarket where there are 23 kinds of cereal, 14 pasta sauces, zillions of juice options, 1000 toothbrushes that all do the same thing, and different pricing structures. I like the Austrian mentality: 2-3 options for each kind of food. Would you like gourmet or plain? That's all you have to decide for the product you want.

Today Mark's running errands and forgot the grocery list. I called to see if he wanted to turn around and come get the list. He said, "Can you just scan it into a PDF and email it to me? I just got a new app on my iPhone and can read Adobe from here." Amazing. I feel like I'm living those incessant iPhone commercials for how new apps will save your life.

Shore is nice

In the South we love our chicken salad. In Maine they have lobster rolls; same concept, different meat. I made some sales calls Wednesday in Maine and enjoyed a delicious lobster roll at a roadside stand on the shore.

Scooper Bowl XXVII

second place: Eric
Community Group at Scooper Bowl
First place goes to the photographer, Joel
This was a terrible day for Mark to travel for work. I sure enjoy ice cream. I am a Holmes after all!
The Scooper Bowl is a fund raiser for the Jimmy Fund for cancer research. They had about 30 flavors to try for an $8 donation. What a day! The vendors donated their ice cream and volunteers scooped. It was a good way to decide which texture and flavors I liked from Ben & Jerry's, Baskin Robbins, Garelick, Spasso, etc.

I'm on my own (at work)

I'm on my own at work as of Monday. John Mills (pictured below) has been a great mentor and taken me into some of the major hospitals in Mass & Maine to get me settled and continue the relationships required for successful selling. We installed a unit at the New England Aquarium in Boston this past week. Pray I do well!
