Artists in residence

While I was setting dinner (below) on the table Mark called for the kids to come outside. Seems Sawyer's painting got "creative" on the sidewalk. No permanent damage. . .

I've started posting more often on Instagram and plan to continue blogging. If you're interested in my IG account it's easy for me to approve you if I know who you are!

turn your head left, the squint: it's Alice's drawing of our house with the flag and wreath out front

Kiawah Island & Chapney's Blueberry Saturday

Saturday we went and drove around Kiawah Island. The golf courses made me wish my Daddy were there too. . .the houses for fun for my architect husband (and me). Clearly, the kids enjoyed the playground. Afterwards we stopped to pick blueberries again this season. We picked a whopping 15lbs and have frozen them away for smoothies, cobblers, scones and more. Yummy summer!

Sharks!!

We haven't been to the beach in a while because it's been so hot. No, the only sharks we've seen are at the aquarium downtown :)

Ice Cream, Play time & Cows in Greenville

Last week we made a quick Tuesday visit to my sister's house to exchange some furniture, visit, play, eat ice cream cones on the porch, dress up for Cow Appreciation Day at Chick-fil-A and eat lakeside at Furman University. Thanks for the fun day, Mary Beth & girls!!

Snaggle Tooth Girl

On Friday, July 17th Alice lost her first tooth! It wiggled for weeks and weeks before her Mama bravely tugged it out. Alice was SO proud and thrilled and happy. Toothatina left a note and some money, but Alice said it was from her parents. She used the money to buy herself a Frozen book plus Sawyer a little Lego train at her favorite store Barnes & Noble. Sweet, generous girl with her other lower tooth also wiggling :)

July Stegall holiDAY

All 22 of us congregated at my parents' new house and pool for a fun, quick day and lunch together. It was a quick getaway for us from the lake, but totally worth it to see our California family. We were delighted to fit in a real conversation with each of my siblings and see the cousins play together well. Alice said, "I want to wake up and have this day ALL over again." as we left Mimi and Grandaddy's house.

Lake Martin July 4th

We celebrated Mark's birthday by waking up at his parents' lake house after a late-night drive Wednesday. Fishing, wake boarding, tubing, riding in boats or jet skis, eating good food, playing with cousins, visiting on the porch, and staying up late sum up our fun, relaxing time together.
