Skiing

These are some photos of my skiing in New Hampshire. One day we spent at Cannon Mtn. with 3 inches on snow on the ground from the night before. This is the mountain Bode Miller grew up skiing. The next day we skiied at Waterville Valley which is the home mtn to some of the US mogul Olympians. I do not ski moguls because they are extremely difficult but enjoyed the mountain none the less. One photo is of a porcupine in a tree.

The Man & the Mountain

Mark fell in love with his ski instructor (me!) about 6 years ago but didn't really fall in love with skiing until this year. His ski instructor is not able to ski this season because she's gotta protect the baby they're expecting in June. I'm so glad he gets to ski but a little sick that I'm not out there enjoying the slopes with him. He looks good, doesn't he?

Estabrook Woods in Concord, Mass

Past some beautiful old farmhouses and down a dirt road is Estabrook Woods in Concord, Mass. It seemed I was catching glimpses of Williamsburg, VA as we drove to the nature preserve. We heard about it this week from a dog park friend and enjoyed walking new trails, spotting new fishing ponds (when they've thawed), passing horses and dogs with their owners, and taking in the beautiful day.

Skiing Mount Sunapee with friends

Sarah Nell, Grace, Anna & I hiked because the snow wasn't quite good enough for cross country skiing. It was COLD but a beautiful way to enjoy the sunny day.
We also antiqued a little.

We ate good food & played fun games at night: Blokus, Guestures, Catchphrase & Risk.
Mark and about 8 others skied in the 12 degree weather. He had a great time and is trying to coordinate other getaways to ski this season.

Baby Holmes is a healthy. . .

Baby Holmes is a healthy baby girl!! I was so relieved that everything looked great in the ultrasound. We're both very excited to meet Little Girl in June. Mark and I will now be able to narrow down names but wait to pick until delivery day (that's the plan). It's amazing to think we're halfway there. This is week 20 and I'm feeling good, Little Girl is squirming enough for me to feel her throughout the day and I've made the permanent move to maternity clothes. By the way, Mark does not like posting belly pictures so I slipped this one in without him knowing. I don't know that I'll get away with it very often and don't want to turn off friends (like cousin George) who also dislike seeing belly shots :).

I went to my National Sales Meeting last week and almost no one knew I was pregnant until they saw my little baby belly. My Women's Healthcare Specialist pretty much summed up their thoughts, "This is soooo exciting! We haven't had a baby born in our region since the 80s." They are all generally older than I am and already have kids in college or older. It was fun to have see them so excited about our baby.

Dress the part--our hunting dog

Jackson would never survive as a real hunting dog but he sure looks ready with the hat. I know most of you won't care but I think it's really hilarious. Let's just say this post is for me, my nieces, and the nephews.
