Poppy & Gigi, Abby & Uncle Mark visit

Gigi, Poppy, Aunt Abby and Uncle Mark came to visit and meet Sawyer this weekend. We had a good time touring DC's big sites together. Alice and Sawer were troopers in the stroller! We enjoyed great weather, an Earth Day special garden tour of the White House grounds, and a day with friends at church together on Sunday. We're so glad they came!!

We had to take two cars because of the size of our family. Mark drove Alice and by the end of the weekend she learned to say "recalculating" like his GPS. Hilarious! She also exclaimed that our Papa John's pizza was "delicious" and said it perfectly. Also pretty funny. . .

Alice at Barnum & Bailey Circus

Alice got a special treat last week when the Kriese family took her to the Ringling Brother's Circus. She came home talking about "funny clowns", donkeys (horses), lions, and elephants. Alice even got a special circus light that blinks fun colors on the ceiling.

She's talking about it more than a week later because it was so fun. Alice LOVES Ade, Paul, Lillian and Claire! I hear "Ade-Paul" a dozen times a day because she wants to go to their house and play. *pictures to come later*

The tulips are in full bloom at Sherwood Gardens in Baltimore even though we still have some cold days.

1 Month & 21 Months

Alice turned 21 months on 3/27---
. . .opinionated on what she wears every day now . . .loves to dance . . .loves to sing . . . counts to 9 with few mistakes . . .recognizes most colors but guesses "red" first every time . . .always interested in Sawyer . . .seems ready to potty train, but i'm not so we're still in diapers . . .wants to read books morning and night . . .still hasn't met a stranger . . . talks all the time . . .says " cute" when she gets dressed . . .loves to video chat with her grandparents . . .is finally growing more hair . . .loves to play outside . . .isn't very nice to our dog Jackson because she's "protecting" Sawyer

Sawyer turned 1 month on 3/28---
weighed 11lb 8 oz at his one month checkup this week . . .he gained nearly 3 pounds in 4 weeks! . . .22.75 length. . .he started smiling at one month. . .wakes more in the day and makes eye contact now . . .eats every 3 hours in the day, just over 4 hours at night (most days) . . .we think he looks like Alice when he sleeps and a little different when he's awake
