Little Outfit

    * I sewed my first piece of clothing for Alice. Three antique napkins with holes and stains were in a moving box with other table linens. They seemed useless until I cleaned them and realized our little girl could possibly wear it using a pillowcase dress pattern. I'm still not sure it fits her because it's late tonight and she's asleep. We'll see tomorrow and modify as necessary. It's such an easy project!

Our Boston baby bids farewell

Boston Public Library

We leave Boston and Cambridge with some sadness. Our adventure continues and we expect good things in our future but a part of our heart remains. Mark and I have both learned a lot about ourselves and how to relate with others while living in this city. It's been a valuable time we'll look back on with a smile--friends, adventures in the city, camping and exploring New England, snow skiing, Fall's glory displayed in the changing leaves, Alice's birth. . .

A few snapshots

7 weeks
10lb 12.5oz, 23.5 inches
64% weight, 90% height
She still hasn't figured out that we're moving :).
Please pray that we'll have a safe and peaceful/content drive to Maryland on Saturday with the baby, dog, UHaul, and parents (us!). It feels like there's a lot more to pack and we're trying to purge things since we don't have extra storage. It's challenging but ultimately the right thing to do. Goodwill will definitely benefit in the end.

Edgar the groom - 6 weeks
Our friends Edgar & Mandy got married here in Boston this weekend. We worked together at MID and now they're in Gainesville, FL. Alice was a hit with all the guests at the reception. I think everybody had a great time!

Geography Quiz

What do Buffalo, NY; Laurel, MD; Ottawa, Canada; and Caribou, ME have in common?
Each is approximately 425 miles from Cambridge, MA.

Which would you rather move to?
I bet you got the answer right. We're moving to Laurel, Maryland in two weeks.

More details to come. . . We're excited to go for Mark's program and sad to leave because we've grown to love many people and places throughout New England.

This is Alice at 5 weeks old. Amazing to think she's now SIX weeks old!
