Longwood Gardens, outside Philadelphia, is the best botanical garden Mark and I have ever seen. You should go there if you get the chance. I was thrilled to be there for my favorite time--bulbs in bloom!

If you text them, they will come
Last weekend in Birmingham & Gadsden was full of fun and visiting folks. Saturday afternoon we realized there are so many folks we wanted to see and not enough time to fit it all in. I text messaged some family and friends letting them know that Mark, Alice and I were going to Taziki's restaurant on Sunday for lunch. I heard from about five folks and expected a small crowd. Just look how many folks showed up. Thank you!! If you look back to Christmas posts it is fun to see how much the baby cousins have grown :)
I was totally wiped out on Sunday (4/3) in Birmingham. I thought the pollen had created a terrible allergy cold. Mark felt the same way after being outside at Shannon's wedding on a cool Spring night. We actually had sinus infections, coughing, and I had a fever for three days. I've never had appropriate sensitivity for people with sinus infections until now. I thought I was going to die for days until I started antibiotics. I'm only now feeling well with a little residual tiredness left over. I was so out of it that on Wednesday I realized, while changing Alice's diaper, that she had a tooth I'd never seen before. Holy cow. She survived the teething process despite my zombie-like state during the ordeal. It's nice to know babies are resilient.

Andres & Shannon's wedding
Shannon and I have know each other our entire lives. Our mamas are best friends. We've celebrated birthdays at the circus, had matching dresses during our younger years, roomed together at Auburn, spent days on the lake together, and seen each other follow God's path for our lives.
I've never seen Shannon happier, more at peace, and more loved than when she's with Andres. Their marriage ceremony at her parents' house was such a special tribute to the Lord's work in their lives and their commitment to Him and each other. Andres is Mexican and the sombreros and fake mustaches were a hilarious tribute to his culture. It was so fun to celebrate with them!!
